Cooling tower blowdown refers to the management of the concentration of minerals (such as silica, magnesium, chloride, calcium) in water that is recirculated in cooling towers. This means that as water evaporates, the mineral concentration of the water constantly increases, causing scale within the system, or leading to corrosion problems.
